Mechanically Assisted Mine Clearance Equipment, Research and Development

Mechanically Assisted Mine Clearance

LCI uses and teaches a variety of techniques for the detection of landmines and unexploded ordnance, including manual, canine, and mechanical methods. No one of these methods can suffice independently, so LCI integrates engineering and production capabilities into a manual and canine detection program, in order to deliver the most effective mechanical aids to the field.

LCI teams may constitute the most balanced and development-focused mine clearance capacity extant today. A blend of local population empowerment, high quality facilities, and expert staff make LCI programs powerful forces for economic rehabilitation. In every facet of our projects, LCI works to involve local people in landmine clearance projects through vocational training opportunities. we aim to eradicate the landmine threat by helping mine affected countries to build the human resources needed to undertake ambitious mine action programs. An infrastructure of local mechanics, engineers, and medics created by LCI to support mine clearance programs, will help not only to clear extant mines, but also may insulate local populations from destabilizing poverty, hunger, disease, and fear.
