Fundamentals

Our central goal is to develop the human resources that are the fundamental building block of any nation's mine action capability. Therefore, our de-mining training program is a demanding, extended course that provides far more than a glossary of manual mine detection methods. We expect each trainee to finish an LCI training course capable of marking a clearance site, then detecting, identifying, and destroying the majority of known forms of explosive ordnance.

The LCI de-mining training course includes:

• Classroom instruction in detection, identification, and disposal of ordnance, international standards for site marking, and basic first aid.
• Individual and group practical exercises to develop experience, build team cohesion, and coordinate standard and emergency procedures.
• Familiarization with canine and mechanical assistance methods.
• Formal testing and certification
